How to share on Facebook

Share, share, share!

Facebook is the most important social medium for sharing your crowdfunder.

Use the handy share buttons under the main header picture on your fundraiser page. There, you'll find the Facebook button. If you click on it, the 'Share on Facebook' window opens. Here you can choose how and where you want to share your fundraising page. Of course, you can also just copy-paste the link to your fundraiser page if you prefer.

Don't forget to click the blue button below 'Post on Facebook' once you have made your choices.

Pin your post to the top of the page

Do you have a business page on Facebook? You can place the link to your fundraiser page in a post and pin it to the top of your page. This keeps your fundraiser displayed at the top of your FB page and in the spotlight for all followers and visitors of your Facebook page. You do this by first posting the message and then clicking on the three dots in the top right-hand corner and choosing 'Pin to Top of Page'.

Facebook groups

Place the link to your fundraiser page (you can add a message) on Facebook pages of relevant Facebook groups (you may have to apply for membership first). For example, if you have a fundraiser for a (pet) animal, look for Facebook groups that are about animals. There you will find many animal lovers who may sympathise with your fundraiser.

For every possible subject, you will be able to find one or more Facebook groups.

Wrong header foto displayed

If you have changed the main header picture on your fundraiser page after publishing it, the old picture often remains displayed when sharing your fundraiser.

This has to do with the 'cache', the memory. The old image is still stored there.

What is the solution? Click on the 3 dots in the top right corner of the message. Then click on 'Refresh attachments'. Then refresh the Facebook page in your browser.

Another way: copy the link from your page and paste it to the Facebook Debugger (https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug). Click on Debug and your new image will now load properly.
