  • Switch off donating - default setting is off.
  • The fundraiser has an end date - default setting is off

  • Limited access - default setting is off
  • Use my own thank you e-mail - default setting is off

In addition, you can set suggested donation amounts for a specific purpose or item.

Explanation:

Allow collectors to join

It is turned off by default. If this is turned on, you get a 'Become a collector' button on your campaign page. Readers can then apply to become a collector for your fundraising campaign. In the collectors button you can invite people to become collectors. With this option, people can register themselves to become collectors. The default setting is off.

Show my profile picture

This is enabled by default. It shows your profile picture on the fundraiser page. By switching it off, your profile picture will no longer be shown. We recommend showing your profile picture on the fundraiser page. People are more likely to donate if they can see who is behind the fundraiser. It makes the fundraiser more personal.

Allow people to contact me

This is enabled by default. This gives visitors of your campaign page the opportunity to send you (the administrator / organisor) a message. This can be useful if, for example, donors have questions about the campaign, if employees of the news media would like to get in touch with you in order to publish an article about your fundraising campaign, etc. We advise you to leave this on.

Switch off donating

Is off by default. By enabling this function, you deactivate the DONATE NOW button on your campaign page and visitors will no longer be able to donate. You can easily re-activate donating and make it possible for visitors to donate again by turning it off. The campaign page remains active in both modes.

The fundraiser has an end date

It is turned off by default: your fundraiser has no end date and remains active as long as you want. If you turn this option on you can then enter an end date. The end date is displayed on your fundraiser page and after reaching this date the button DONATE NOW becomes inactive. Visitors can then still see your fundarsier page online but can no longer donate. You can always change your end date whenever you like. You will also receive a notification e-mail and a reminder when the end date is approaching (see Notifications).

Disable donating when target amount is reached

Off by default; donating remains possible after reaching the set target amount (if set). By turning this option on, the Donate NOW button will be deactivated as soon as the target amount has been reached and visitors will no longer be able to donate to your campaign.

Limited access

It is turned off by default, so that everyone can find and see your fundraiser. It may be the case that you want your fundraiser only to shared and known in a limited circle. If you do not want everyone to be able to see your fundraiser, you can turn on 'Limited access'.

Your fundraiser campaign will then:

• not be shown on the Spendenaktion website.

• cannot be found in the search system of Spendenaktion.

• The fundraiser is not indexed on Google, so it cannot be found in a Google search. Visitors will need the fundraiser link to visit the campaign.

• donations are not shown on the homepage of Spendenaktion.

Use my own thank you e-mail

This feature is disabled by default; donors automatically receive a standard thank-you e-mail on behalf of the fundraiser's organiser after they have made a donation. The text of this standard e-mail reads:

Thank you for your donation! Your contribution is truly appreciated.

You can change the text of this thank-you e-mail to your liking if you turn this feature on. A text field will appear in which you can edit the default text.

Donors will also receive a donation receipt together with the thank-you e-mail. This is proof that the donor has donated through the platform. For an official proof/receipt of donation (e.g. to be used for tax purposes), the organizer must provide the proof/receipt themselves. The donor does not donate to Spendenaktion but to the campaign itself. Spendenaktion is only an intermediary in this process.

Suggested donation ammounts

You can propose suggested donation amounts for a specific purpose or item. Donors retain the option to choose their own donation amount.
